GRD Grease Removal Device

The heart of the ECH2O™ Wastewater Pre-Treatment System is the Oil and Grease Removal Device.  Oil/grease laden wastewater is collected and pumped from a lift station through a two stage solids interceptor. This solids filter removes particles down to 40 microns. The wastewater is then directed to the oil removal chamber by specially designed piping and passes through the GRS Mazeamax™ coalescing plates. The coalescing plates are fabricated of an oleophilic material assembled in modules. The GRS Mazeamax™ coalescing plates enable the removal of not only free floating oil/grease, but also oil/grease that has been emulsified in the wastewater. Oil droplets of 20 microns and larger will adhere to the plates and coalesce into larger droplets which will become buoyant and float to the top of the oil/grease removal unit. The separated oil/grease layer is then removed from the tank and stored in a separate container.
